About

Your Pets Warehouse in Tonypandy, Glamorgan, is a pet shop unlike any other. On the outside it looks just like any other pet shop stocking brands such as Royal Canin, Burns, Supreme Pet Products and more. They also provide a wide range of other pet products for cats, dogs, fish, reptiles, birds and other small animals.

Your Pets Warehouse is different in that it’s a ‘not for profit’ social enterprise and training company. It offers NVQ qualifications to unemployed young people within the deprived Rhondda Cynon Taff area. The retail store based in Tonypandy town centre is used as a vehicle for training, along with the ecommerce online store. Students not only gain a recognised qualification after the thirteen week course, but also improve essential work skills as they deal with customers, look after the store animals and learn about the products for sale.

The aim of this Glamorgan pet supply business (that is also a registered charity) is to give these young people the chance to go on to find paid employment or onto higher education. While they are studying they undertake on the job training in customer service, general retail tasks and animal care.
