Established in 1997, Paws 4 Claws in Castle Douglas is owned and run by Jerry and Sarah, both lifelong owners of many pets. Val, their assistant has been with them since 1999 and has the same high level of hands on experience.
All customers are greeted with a friendly "hello" as well as thanking them for calling in, whether buying or not. They offer an ever-growing selection of quality products which has earned them an excellent reputation throughout South West Scotland and beyond.
Stocking many of the high street brands, Paws 4 Claws offer their own branded dog, cat, and small animal food and treats. They are also more than willing to try and obtain anything you might want, even if they don't normally stock it. They also offer small animal boarding facilities, believing that if they have sold you rabbits, guinea pigs or hamsters, they should offer to look after them if you go away. They will also look after birds for you and offer a full ‘bed, breakfast and dinner’ service.
Limited only by space, this Castle Douglas-based pet shop has seventeen fish tanks covering both cold-water and tropical species. By having access to their aquatic suppliers website, they are happy to show you over 500 more species including Marine and Inverts, any of which they are willing to order for their customers. Together with a large selection of dog coats from 8" to 30", dog and cat beds and wild bird food, feeders and treats, there's not much they can’t help you with.

Friendly service, wide range of products at affordable prices. Simply adorable small animals on display in a clean and dry run and many colourful species of fish. No faults could be found anywhere in my opinion.
